I honestly have never had the occasion to boil sugar in
water, so I had no idea what “thread stage” meant. My first thought was of a
unique event at Bonnaroo, but I knew that couldn’t be right. As usual the web
was there to inform me, and I found this site
listing all the stages of cooking sugar syrup. The marshmallow sauce can be
used as an ice cream topping, for making s’mores, pouring over chocolate
waffles or even as a sauce
for sweet potato fries.
